Assign Roles to an Existing Role

Existing Job roles can be used to assign the module integrator roles to grant the proper permissions.

Note - Any users with the existing role that has the module integrator roles will be granted permissions to use the integrators. If stricter control is needed that only set users can use the module integrators, we suggest setting up roles with a custom role.

1.      Log in to your Oracle ERP Cloud instance with a user that has Security Console Access.
2.      Navigate to Tools > Security Console.
3.      On the left-hand pane, select the Roles page.
4.      In the search box, search the existing role that you want to assign the integrator roles to.
5.      Click the down arrow next to the role title.
6.      Click Edit Role.
7.      Add the roles required by the module or integrator in the Function Security Policies or Role Hierarchy sections as needed.
8.      Optionally, in the Edit Role screen navigate to the Users section and click Add User.
9.      Search the user in the window that appears.
10.   Select the user and click Assign User to Role. (Repeat steps 8 - 10 for each user).
11.   Once complete, close the window and go to Summary at the end of the Edit Role screen.
12.   Click Save and Close.

This method is efficient to have all assigned users inherit any updates made to the existing role automatically. However, not all users with the existing role will use the module. We suggest setting up a custom role for improved permissions when using the modules and integrators.

Important - Once all assignments are completed, run the ‘Import User and Role Application Security Data’ process. Refer to the Schedule Processes to Complete Role Assignments section for further details. If this process is not run the changes made above will not come into effect.
