Update Item Structures

It is recommended to first download Structure information into the worksheet to ensure identifying columns are populated for accurate updating.

Please become familiar with the current Integrator Limitations relating to updating Structures. These will be resolved over time, as Oracle improves the underlying web services, and we add additional functionality to this product.

To update Structures, the Structure ‘Upload Action’ column value must be “Update”.  All other section action columns for this record do not need to be populated.

Update of the Structure Description Field
Only the Structure Description can be updated in the header section.
Note - Only standard Item Structures can be updated with either Unit or Date effectivity.

Update in Multiple Sections

The example illustrates the ‘Structure Description’ and ‘Component Item details’ columns being updated.
Note - The ‘Start Date’ cannot be changed/updated but is required on the worksheet being a key identifier for the component when performing updates. If the active start date in the Integrator is different to the active start date in Oracle, then the upload will error.

Update a Unit Effective Component

The above example illustrates updating only the component section. It is important the header information (‘Organization Name’, ‘Item Number’ and ‘Structure Name’) is populated to identify the correct structure. The ‘From Unit Number’ is mandatory for the Unit Effective Structure to be updated. The ‘From Unit Number’ can also be updated.

Updates across an entire Structure

The above example illustrates a single record with details in the ‘Item Structure’, ‘Component Item’, ‘Substitute Component’ and ’Reference Designator’ sections being updated simultaneously.
Note - Disabled/end-dated components (unit or date effective) cannot be updated. The Action column should be left blank for disabled/end-dated components or they can be removed from the sheet while updating active components.

Update of a Substitute Component Quantity

To update the ‘Substitute Component Quantity’, the ‘Item Structure’ and ‘Component’ sections must be populated. In the ‘Substitute Component’ section, the only updateable field is ‘Substitute Quantity’.

Reference Designator Update

To update the ‘Reference Designator Description’, the ‘Item Structure’ and ‘Component’ section must be populated. In the ‘Reference Designator’ section, the only updateable field is ‘Reference Designator Description’.

Multiple Structure Updates Simultaneously
Note - Any child section of the disabled/end-dated component (date or unit effective) cannot be updated.

Delete a Substitute Component and a Reference Designator.

In the above scenario, multiple ‘Item Structures’, ‘Component Items’, ‘Substitute Components’ and ‘Reference Designator’ are being updated, created, and deleted simultaneously.

       For Structure AS15000
The reference designator description is being updated for component AS9000.

       For Structure AS15001
The reference designator description is being created for component AS9001.
Substitute component AS10001 is being deleted.

       For Structure AS15002
Substitute component AS10002 is being created.
Reference designator AS50003 is being deleted for component item AS9002.

Only substitute components and reference designators can be deleted.

Delete a Substitute Component and Reference Designator in a single Item Structure

In the above scenario, the reference designator AS50001 belonging to component item AS9000 and substitute component AS10001 belonging to component item AS9001 have been deleted simultaneously without any action applied to ‘Item Structure’ and ‘Component Items’.
