Update Existing Item Information

It is recommended to first download Item information into the worksheet to ensure identifying columns are populated for accurate updating.

Become familiar with the current Integrator limitations relating to updating Items. These will be resolved over time as Oracle improves the underlying web services and we add additional functionality to this product.
The following values must be populated as a minimum to successfully update an Item:

            Item Upload Action              Enter “Update”
Existing Item Number          Enter the ‘Item Number’ to be updated
Organization                         Enter the ‘Organization’

To update Item attributes, be sure to enter “Update” in the ‘Upload Action column of the section you are updating. For sections you are not updating, you may leave the ‘Upload Action’ column blank. The ‘Update Action’ must be populated for each row in child sections of an item, otherwise any data in those rows will not be updated.

Update Item Number

To update the Item Number, use the 'New Item Number' field. The Item Number can only be changed under the following conditions:

1. The profile setting for EGP_UPDATEABLE_ITEM must be set to "Yes."
2. The item number generation method must be either User Defined or Inherited from parents.

Update Item Details
The image below illustrates how to update item attributes. The ‘Item Upload Action’ value is “Update” which will update the ‘Inventory Item’ flag, ‘Customer Ordered’ flag and the ‘Purchasing Unit Price’ for item AS2006 in the 000 Organization.

The scenario below is to update the Category and update one Revision for one of the Items.
The image below illustrates how the ‘Item Upload Action’ is left blank for the Header section. “Update is entered in the Upload Action columns in the Category and Revision section where appropriate. When the record is uploaded, the Category section and Revision section will be updated. The Item and Revisions S and X will be ignored as there is no value in their respective Upload Action columns. Examples do not include all critical columns.

The scenario below is to delete a Category, update one of the Revisions and Create a new Revision on one of the Items.
The image below illustrates how the ‘Item Upload Action’ column is left blank for the Header. The “Delete” action has been entered in the Category section. “Update” is populated in the ‘Revision Upload Action’ column for revision S and “Create” action for revision X for this Item. When the record is uploaded, category AT2010-01-1” will be deleted, revision S will be updated and new revision X will be created. All other sections will be ignored. Examples do not include all critical columns.
