Case Scenario: Split VS Full allocation
When you use the SPLIT functionality to partially assign the unassigned amount to an asset, you can reset the entire amount back to UNASSIGNED after running the Generate Asset Lines request in Oracle. This will only work if the PRC: Interface Assets to Oracle Assets request hasn't been submitted after the Split.
However, when you fully ASSIGN 100% of the entire unassigned amount to an asset or assets, you cannot reset the original unassigned amount to be UNASSIGNED after running the Generate Asset Lines request regardless of whether the PRC: Interface Assets to Oracle Assets request has been submitted or not. This is standard Oracle functionality.
Original unassigned amount for a Task
Allocate 50% to an asset
The new unassigned amount after the split
Run the generate asset lines job
The original unassigned amount is restored
Use the loader to download the unassigned line and use the SPLIT to allocate 0.5% and then 50% towards an asset. Upload the split percentages.
Oracle EBS reflects the total unassigned amount after the splits
Submit the Generate asset lines job
The unassigned amount is restored after the generate asset lines job is done
Let’s do 100% allocation from Oracle EBS.
Submit the generate asset lines job
The previous unassigned amount is NOT restored due to the 100% allocation. This is standard Oracle functionality.
