To create a new HR Job, you enter header information (Upload Mode, Job Flex Field, Date From and Job Group). All other fields in this section are optional.
Job ID and Name are display only fields used to assist in uploading the correct job information. When updating a job ensure these values are on the sheet. These fields can also be used to download Jobs; to do this enter the name of the job and then use the download selected option in the ribbon (explained later in this document).
Upload Mode field is used to specify the type of upload for the job. As stated earlier in the document the options for this field are:
Create - Used when a new record is being created.
Update -Used when a record is being updated.
Delete - Used in an upload when the record selected is going to be deleted.
Date To field represents the date the job will end. Please note that the generic From-To date validation applies to this field i.e. Date To cannot be before the Date From.
Selected Job Group value specifies the required job group. This field will determine what can be selected in the ‘Job Flex Field’ field. Please note only jobs entered in your Default HR Job Group will be available in other windows in Oracle HRMS such as Position, Competencies, or Assignment. The only windows within Oracle HRMS that can access jobs outside of the Default HR Job Group are the Supplementary Roles window and the Elections window. This field is also mandatory.
Approval Authority is an LOV style field where the user can input a numerical value to define the incumbents of the job. This value is used by Oracle Approvals Management to determine whether a person has sufficient authority to approve a transaction.
