AIW User Guide - System Administration Loader

Child Ranges User Form

We can also set up hierarchical flex values. This takes use of the child section - Child Ranges section in the spreadsheet. Same as above, we can specify our Flex Value Set name in the first tab of the user form.

Then in the second tab we can fill out any of the fields including the qualifiers. Taking note that fields in yellow are required.

Once this is done, we can then go to the Child Ranges section and double click on the row that we entered data in previously.  This will open up the child ranges form where we can enter our ranges. As depicted this form replicates the oracle form shown.

Here we are also able to either Update or Delete a child range by changing the Update Mode to either ‘Insert’ or ‘Delete’ beforehand.  Once all data is correct we can follow the standard upload procedures.

The Flex Value loader is also able to handle dependent flex values. When a download is performed the data is printed as shown, in this scenario the last six records are the values you would originally see when querying the Oracle forms for the value set.

When in the Oracle forms if we use the down arrow (↓) we can then see the dependent value sets.

These are what is seen in the remainder of the download shown above, e.g. ‘NZ_Grade_Level’. If we open the user form we can then enter or change the values needed.

Once all data is changed/entered we can then perform the appropriate upload.
